Directions to Mahikeng Lodge
- Mahikeng Lodge can be reached in an hour from Johannesburg.
- On the Western bypass heading south, take the 14th Avenue off ramp.
- At the bottom of the off ramp turn right, pass under two bridges and turn right onto Hendrik Potgieter Road – Route 47. You will see the Hyperama on the left hand side. Proceed along Hendrik Potgieter to a 4-way stop.
- The distance from 14th Avenue to the 4-way stop at the Sasol garage is 14km (9 miles).
- Cross straight over the 4-way stop and proceed until the T-junction (11km / 7 miles). Turn right at the T-junction.
- Proceed along the R563 for 9km / 6 miles until you reach the Maropeng Road. Turn left into Maropeng Road.
- Proceed along Maropeng Road until you reach the stop sign (12km / 7 miles).
- Turn Right onto the R24 towards Magaliesberg.
- Drive through the town of Magaliesberg until you reach the junction at the far end of the town. Turn left at the junction towards Koster.
- Travel for 24km (15 miles) towards Koster (R509). You will go under a railway bridge, pass some silos and a few shops on your right. Turn right immediately after the shops and the sign that says Sandfontein.
- Travel for 500m, cross the railway tracks, the road now becomes a sand road and then turn right into Syferbult Dairies.
